About the Founder

The former Angela Dickerson, a servant of our Lord and Savior was born in Talladega, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Lilly Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the pasturage of the late Minister Frank Cunningham.

A 1979 graduate of Talladega High School, Angela was destined for greatness. Throughout her adolescent years she was reared in a church environment. A must attend Sunday school was one of the prerequisite that her mother instilled in her children. At age 12, she and several young girls from the Westgate Housing Projects formed a spiritual group called The Young Stars. The Young Stars was a popular group in the 70's. Their ages range from 5-15 years old.

On January 22, 1983, Angela married her best friend, William C. Hewlett. Now a widow, she spends her time witnessing to all who wish to receive God's blessing. She inspires and uplifts others with her testimony.

Angela received her Bachelor of Science degree from the historical Tuskegee (Institute) University in May, 1984 with honors. In the fall of 1985, she was accepted in the MBA program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She has excelled in various fields of accounting, entrepreneurship, teaching and salesmanship. She has received numerous awards, plaques, certificates, recognitions, ribbons and trophies in all endeavors. Her favorite past-time is reading, fishing, designing crafts and attending church related activities.

Angela Dickerson Hewlett, a visionary, an entrepreneur and a born again Christian received the baptism of the Holy Spirit on October 8, 2005 at the Women With A Purpose’s 3 day conference in Montgomery, Alabama, founded by the late Minister Lucille Richie. Angela is mindful of the Scripture cited in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) “therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Angela is the president and founder of Mela-A-Support Group and the founder of Jesus Saves Bible Ministry.

As a health and spiritual advocate, Angela wants people to know whatever issues they encounter that Mela-A-Support Group is here to be their beacon of light in this dark world as they provide the support needed for spiritual growth and to help others reach their God given purpose. Membership is free and she welcomes all to join as they Empower Lives across America.

Angela furthers her studies, education and training at Trinity Evangelical Christian Ministries. On September 6, 2007, Angela received her diploma in Christian Theology at Grace Bible College & Seminary under the leadership of Bishop Hutcherson. She received a Master of Arts degree in Marketplace Chaplaincy from Liberty Theological Seminary and Graduate School on January 12, 2010. This degree enabled her to fulfill a life time dream to minister and teach in Africa. Her dream came to pass on June 07 - July 12, 2010.

Angela counts it all joy when she experience trails and tribulations because she knows faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen.
